Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to all mobile applications published by Low Voltage Ltd (“we”, “our”, or “us”), a company registered in New Zealand.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how our apps handle information in compliance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Australian Privacy Act 1988. It also covers how this website, lowvoltage.nz, uses analytics, described in Website Analytics below.

Information We Collect

We do not run any servers that receive your data, we do not require accounts, and we do not ourselves collect or store your personal information.

All data you enter or create within our apps — diagrams, measurements, calculations, and notes — is stored locally on your device only and never leaves it.

Some of our apps are also offered as a free, ad-supported version. Those versions include a third-party advertising service (Google AdMob) that collects limited data to serve ads, as described in Advertising in Free Versions below. Our paid versions include no advertising and no third-party data collection.

Device Permissions

Some of our apps may request access to device features such as the camera, file storage, or sensors (e.g. LiDAR). These permissions are used solely to provide the app’s core functionality on your device. No data captured through these permissions is transmitted off your device.

You can revoke any permission at any time through your device settings.

Advertising in Free Versions

Some of our apps are offered as a free, ad-supported version alongside a paid version. The free versions display banner advertising through Google AdMob, a service provided by Google.

To select and measure ads, the AdMob software may collect limited information from your device, including:

• device and advertising identifiers (such as the iOS Identifier for Advertisers, IDFA);
• ad-interaction and app-usage data;
• approximate (coarse) location; and
• diagnostic data, such as crash and performance information.

On iOS, we ask for your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before any data is used to personalise ads. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalised using your advertising identifier. This information is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Our paid (Pro) versions contain no advertising and no third-party data collection. Upgrading to a paid version removes ads entirely.

Website Analytics

This section applies to the lowvoltage.nz website itself, separately from the apps described above. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use this website, including pages viewed, approximate (coarse) location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site.

This information is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not use this data to identify you personally, and it is not linked to any data collected within our apps.

Third-Party Services

Our paid apps do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking software. Our free, ad-supported apps integrate Google AdMob for advertising, as described in Advertising in Free Versions above. We do not use any other third-party analytics or tracking services.

Please note that Apple App Store and Google Play Store may independently collect anonymised usage statistics (such as crash reports and aggregate download counts) in accordance with their own privacy policies. This data is collected by Apple or Google, not by us, and we do not have access to any individually identifiable information from these sources.

Children’s Privacy

Our apps are designed for trade professionals and are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
